Feel free to wear Obama T-Shirts if you want and to bring signs, however this protest is NOT affiliated with the Obama campaign. (Even though we are very pro-Obama!!)

I was upsaet with this choice for vp candidate from the minute I researched her on line. The very fact that so many of the very people she was elected to serve in Wasilla are afraid to talk about her for fear of retaliation, speaks volumes. Palin sounds like a petulant spoiled child in her dealings with those who disagree with her. I pray to God that this pouty brat never has a hand iin foreign relations.

I’m trying to re-arrange my schedule for this week. Not sure I will be able to. If I can I will be there. I learned this from another wonderful site http://womenagainstpalin.com/blog2/ to take lots of photos. Just in case something would happen, then there is photographic evidence. Also, take photos so that those of us who can not be there see how magical this experience will be. Thank you for organizing this. If I’m not there I will be there in spirit. So proud of you!

I hope that the messages that all of us who strongly disagree with McCain’s choice will be carried by all of you that day and from there to the voters of this country. Thank you for your committment to women and to our children.

Enough!
Palin’s narrow world view will put women’s issues in reverse. McCain’s V.P. pick of Palin was a calculated, cynical, political move that had absolutely nothing to do with advancing women’s issues.
It’s encouraging to see that “thinking” women are willing to make a stand. Good luck with the rally!

I find Palin the worst possible choice for VP. I am 75 years old and all the things that women in my day fought for will be lost if this women should by happenstance eventualy become President.

Good luck ladies! Wish I could be there but I am a few states away!!! Never before have I been so moved to want to participate in something like this in my life! Would love to see this type of thing repeated in every state and at every opportunity!!

What’s wrong with Sarah Palin? She a working mother of 5 and incredibly intelligent. Why would we protest her?
This makes no sense. What is the sign going to say, “we’re against the advancement of women in society?” Really now.

Whoever is trying to organize this should be commended for her effort…for her conviction…for her courage…at this moment of our history we cannot simply endure Sarah’s lies..if she can afford to lie to us now..how much more when she is the most powerful person not only in America but in the world…We the American people are the strength of democracy not only here in our country but also in the world..That’s a role we should be proud to play and we should try to preserve…

Joan, if you think “incredibly intelligent” is someone who went to 6 colleges in 6 years and graduated with a BA journalism degree then we have different definitions of intelligence. She can read a teleprompter, OK? Compared to a magna cum laude in law from Harvard - no contest! The old boy politicians are playing us big time. Please consider the future of this country. The world is counting on us to get this right!
Please go to this website and read what so many other women are feeling:

Thank you ladies. Though the conservative freaks are bashing us. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2082292/posts
Our message is simple. Sarah Palin does not represent women’s rights and family values. She does not represent us simply because she a woman and we are NOT voting for her. We’ll take photos!

Take a look at their signs, they did them wonderfully! Simple, brilliantly worded and effective..I am so that woman in Alaska have started protesting - those that know her best!…
Let’s get out in the streets all over this country. She cannot get anywhere close to representing women who have fought so hard for advancement.

I am a 65 year old woman with 2 granddaughters and Sarah Palin and her family situation is not an image that I want to have my granddaughters grow up to immulate.
First of all, America is at odds with many fundamentalist nations. These nations see out of wedlock pregnancies as evidence of a betrayal to their faith and family. The women who get pregnant in those cultures are probably fortunate to just get beaten. The propoganda that America is a decadent, immoral, and aggressive nation is going to be confirmed “in spades” if the news media covers Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, (and we know they will.) Why would Americans want to parade such a family around The White House? The terrorists will have a field day pointing to America’s flagrant immorality and probably use it to justify their terrorist acts.
Secondly, I do not want my granddaughters, who’s parents have spent so much love and care on, to get any idea that there are no consequences to getting pregnant out of wedlock.
I come from a University town where many foreign students come to be educated. Believe me, the ones who come to our universities are the cream of the crop and usually go home with their doctorates. These men and women go back to their countries and work very hard to build up their nations. Sarah Palin just does not have the intellect that it takes to interact in the international community with these types of folks, let alone, talk in an intelligent manner to our own press who has been forced to handle her with kid gloves! How embarrasing in front of the whole world. How does McCain begin to think that any world leaders are going to have any respect for him. He has lost credibility at home, which is bad enough, but I think that the foreign leadership will see him as a desperate, unethical, screwball–which he alone, is making himself out to be.

Joan said, “What’s wrong with Sarah Palin? She a working mother of 5 and incredibly intelligent. Why would we protest her?” What I want to know is whether Joan supported Hillary Clinton, as a working mother who also is intelligent and who also is part of the advancement of women in society? Somehow I suspect she was not a Hillary supporter but rather she jumped on the bandwagon when a woman to her liking was on the ticket. Coy games, Joan?

Yesterday went super well! Combined we had something in the neighborhood of 100 people. The main caravan got stuck in traffic but the grounds crew were very friendly and allowed us to get to the very front of the building!
For pics and media coverage see our sub blog - url is http://coloradowomenagainstpalin.blogspot.com/!
Thanks for all your support, ladies. Palin is back on the 23rd so we will be ramping up again.

Thank you, thank you to all the women organizing against the MCPalin Campaign.
Sarah Palin certainly doesn’t speak for all minority women in this country…As a minority woman I’m concerned that if this right wing religious fanatic is elected as vice president, her policies and those of McCain will take women back to the dark ages in terms of religion and sexual choices….PLEASE I make a call to all women regardless of color, status and ideals to join this Anti-Palin campaign.
Doing nothing can have tremendous consequences for which we will regret later!

Has anyone started planning anti-Palin rallies to be held across the country on the same day? Would be great if women in communities, large and small, went out on Saturday Oct 4 at the same time - in Washington, DC, Boston, NY, Los Angeles, Chicago - small cities, everywhere.
